Hartford Office

Shipping Clerk Apply

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for all functions and paperwork relating to pulling and packing material in our central distribution warehouse. The individual must be able to operate machinery including a forklift in a safe and proper manner. Shipping Clerk must maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for pulling, packing and shipping all products leaving the warehouse including verifying actual products against packing slips, confirming product integrity and ensuring products are placed with the correct and appropriate shipping labels and outbound trucks. Shipping Clerk is also responsible for loading trucks and using work devices such as forklift, cherry picker, or sorting bins. Additionally, Shipping Clerk is responsible for maintaining cleanliness of shipping area including loading docks and trash areas.

Pre-employment drug screening and background check required.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • Must pass the drug test.
  • Must pass the background check.
  • Must pass the forklift test.
  • Computer skills.
Inside Sales Apply

Our Inside Sales team's responsibilities include:

  • Receive and process requests directly from customers and outside sales(via phone, email, fax, website ordering) for price quotations, product availability, and orders in a timely manner
  • Responsible for generating new business and maintaining existing customer and vendor relationships
  • Source materials that Nefco does not keep in stock through interaction with purchasing team
  • Meeting and exceeding top and bottom line sales and gross profit goals as a cohesive unit
  • Develop job based distribution strategies and for key commercial construction projects
  • Assist contractors in building America from the ground up beginning at the foundation through penthouse
  • Learn about the value added services Nefco provides and the 30,000 products distributed daily
  • Perform all other inside sales duties as assigned

Washington DC Branch

Outside Sales Apply

The Metro DC area is currently experiencing a surge in construction and NEFCO’s outside sales team is right in the mix selling our products. As part of the team based in our Beltsville, MD branch, you will be responsible for consistent and effective job site coverage and home office visits to both existing and new accounts within a defined range from our local distribution center. Our primary customers are mechanical and electrical contractors and you will offer them product line expertise, new product demonstrations and access to the best NEFCO deals and promotions using our marketing materials. You will work closely with our inside sales department to turn quotes into orders, and you will collaborate with our customer service experts to ensure smooth execution and timely delivery. You will work hard to stay ahead of our competition by building strong customer relationships, showing a sense of urgency and communicating NEFCO’s unrivalled services and deals.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform frequent quality sales calls to customers and prospects in an economical and systematic order;
  • Travel daily within assigned territory to both jobsites and home offices; this position requires high frequency call rates and rigorous navigation of job sites with potentially uneven terrain;
  • Represent NEFCO in a professional manner, particularly with customers and prospects in your assigned territory and on specific jobsites;
  • Assist with day to day customer relations and service; make special or emergency deliveries and help resolve customer complaints and delinquent accounts as needed;
  • Dedicate time to internal and external training programs and teaming up with vendors to remain current on product lines;
  • Build and strengthen vendor relationships by making joint sales calls on a regular basis
  • Practice effective communication with your Regional Sales Manager;
  • Communicate with inside sales as necessary during the quote/order process;
  • Utilize our CRM and other internal systems to stay organized;
  • Promote NEFCO’s catalogs, flyers, brochures and other marketing literature to increase sales;
  • Attend and participate in weekly sales meetings;
  • Carry out other duties inherent as an outside sales representative.
